Make up pode significar inventar, consertar, fazer as pazes ou compensar. Exemplos:
“Sorry I for not coming yesterday, let me make it up for you today.” (Deculpa por não ter vindo ontem, deixe-me te compensar hoje).
“He left after the argument, but he came back the next day and theymade up.” (Ele foi embora depois da discussão, mas ele voltou no dia seguinte e eles fizeram as pazes).
