Hit or strike the right note é um idiom usado para expressar que a pessoa falou ou fez alguma coisa certeira em determinada situação. Exemplos:
“Peter’s speech hit the right note. It was very sincere and heartwarming.” (O discurso do Peter foi certeiro. O discurso foi muito sincero e emocionante.)
“Mary thought her actions striked the right notes, but everybody thought she was being a fool.” (Mary pensou que as atitudes dela foram certeiras, mas todo mundo pensou que ela estava fazendo papel de boba.)
