Hit the roof

Hit the roof significa ficar muito bravo(a) rapidamente, ficar furioso(a). Exemplos:

“She hit the roof when she heard those things.” (Ela ficou furiosa quando escutou aquelas coisas.)

“Paul hit the roof when he saw how his mother was being treated.” (Paul ficou furioso quando viu como sua mãe estava sendo tratada.)
