Lie through one’s teeth é um idiom que significa mentir descaradamente. É aquela situação onde alguém conta alguma coisa que é obviamente uma mentira, sem mostrar nenhum sinal. Exemplos:
“I saw Peter lying through his teeth about why he didn’t come to work yesterday.” (Eu vi o Peter mentindo descaradamente sobre porque ele não veio trabalhar ontem.)
